CORYDON'S COMPLAINT.
When Sol had from the world his beams withdrawn,
And glitt'ring stars bespangl'd all the sky;
When flocks and herds forsook the flowery lawn,
And Cynthia rul'd the peaceful night on high:
Near the soft murmurs of a bubbling stream,
Fast by the foot of an umbrageous oak;
Where Philomela sings her mournful theme,
Upon whose sprays the doleful ravens croak.
